Depleted Campion Lose
Posted: 3/10/11
A depleted Campion side travelled to Stowmarket on Saturday, and bravely slumped to a 73-22 loss. With players in key positions such as Dowling, Maguire, McEvoy, Tilley, Fitzmaurice and Brazier missing, Campion travelled with high hopes of causing an upset in Suffolk. The marvelous conditions meant that the backs from both sides could attack and early on in the first half, each team was tit for tat. Unfortunately, with several key players out, and even players featuring way out of position, Campion succumbed to the home side.
At Cotton's park however, the 2nd XV, led by talisman and undisputed man of the match Richard Tucker fought their way to a 34-33 victory over Chelmsford.
Next weekend, the 1st XV host rivals Newmarket, as they hope the find their winning form once again. In order to achieve this, all players will be required at training this week.
